J G Ross operate retail bakery shops throughout the North East stretching from Stonehaven to Buckie. We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Area Retail Bakery Manager to join our team.
Role Overview: You will support the Area Manager in over seeing multiple bakery locations. Your primary focus will be ensuring smooth operations, maintaining high standards of product quality, staff training, delivering outstanding customer service and helping to grow sales.
Key Responsibilities:
· Assist in managing daily operations across assigned bakery locations.
· Implement and maintain food safety policies and procedures
· Support the Area Manager in achieving sales targets and operational goals.
· Train and motivate bakery staff to provide exceptional customer service.
· Monitor stock levels to ensure high availability.
· Implement promotional strategies to boost sales and enhance customer engagement.
· Assist with customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely manner.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
· Previous experience in retail management or bakery operations is preferred.
· Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Passion for quality food and customer satisfaction.
· Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.
· Basic knowledge of financial management and sales reporting.
We are seeking an enthusiastic hands-on individual, passionate about delivering excellent customer service and providing quality fresh food, to join our team and support all our Bakery Retail Shops in covering holiday and sickness absences.
With 18 bakery shops across the Northeast, flexibility in workings hours is essential as you may be required to work any hours between 5.00am and 6.00pm at any of our shops.
A driving license is essential, and car owner preferred, but a Company vehicle may be available. All travel expenses will be reimbursed.

20-30 hours per week – 5 from 7 days
Saturday - 7.30am to 3.15pm
(Applicants must be over 18 years of age)
30 hours per week, 5 from 7 days according to the rota
Working 20 hours, 5 from 7 days per week
(Applicants must be over 18 years of age due to Post Office Restrictions)
On a rota basis working 5 days per week to include alternate Sunday’s:-
Sunday hours– 8.00am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday hours – 9.00am to 5.30pm
Week 1
Thursday to Saturday - 2.30am to 9.30am
Week 2
Monday to Wednesday - 2.30am to 9.30am
Responsible for ensuring customer deliveries are made within the correct timescales to ensure product quality.
